HOW TO CHANGE YOUR STATIC IP

To start off, you need a direct connection to your modem and computer. If you have a router, disconnect it and directly hook up your modem to your computer.

Open up the command prompt by pressing Start->Run and typing in cmd
In the command prompt, type “Ipconfig/all”. This will tell you your current IP Address. After, type “ipconfig/release”. Keep the command prompt open for easy access.
Go to “Network Connections” (accessible through the control panel). Right click “Local Area Connection” and click “Properties”
With “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) selected, click the “Properties” button.
A new window will open. Under the “General” tab, select “Use the Following IP address”. Under “Ip Address”, put “10.0.0.1″. Press the “Tab” key on your keyboard.
Press Ok on both open windows.
Repeat steps 3-4. Under the “General” tab, press the radio button “Automatically Assign Me an Ip Address”. Press ok on both windows.
Go back to the command prompt and type in “Ipconfig/all”. You’ll now notice you have a new IP address.

So, this will be handy if you want to by-pass Rapidshare 1 hour download limit, provided that you have a static IP address.

You can add “Copy To Folder” and “Move To Folder” to the context menu…

So when you right click on the file or folder it have option to copy or move it to another folder…

Start by launching RegEdit from the Start menu’s Run dialog. Navigate to the key:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFilesystemObjects\shellex
\ContextMenuHandlers.

*Right-click on the ContextMenuHandlers entry and from the menu, select New | Key.

*Name the new key Copy To.

*Double-click on the (Default) value in the right-hand pane and set its data to {C2FBB630-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}. Click on OK

*Then right-click on the ContextMenuHandlers key and create another new key, naming this one Move To. Set the (Default) value for this one to {C2FBB631-2971-11D1-A18C-00C04FD75D13}.

*Click on OK and close the Registry Editor.

How to fix: NTLDR is missing

What happened?

When your computer starts, the BIOS attempts to find the primary hard drive’s active partition to read the first sector for the MBR (Master Boot Record), it uses that info to load the rest of the OS. For Windows NT4/2k/XP the NTLDR (New Technology Loader) takes it from there. If you get the “NTLDR is missing, press any key to restart” what’s most likely going on is the BIOS either didn’t look for the right drive, didn’t find the right partition, it wasn’t active, didn’t find the MBR, or the MBR didn’t list NTLDR in the right place, the location of NTLDR changed, or you are looking at a hardware failure situation (memory/cables/drive/motherboard/etc). Windows Vista does not boot this way, you can still use my floppy to boot into an existing installation of 98/nt/xp, but I’ve not had a chance to test Windows Vista.

Definition:
NTLDR is Short for NT Loader, a program loaded from the hard drive boot sector that displays the Microsoft Windows NT startup menu and helps Windows NT load.

Try this as a possible fix in Windows XP:

Boot to the XP CD. When it asks you if you want to install or Repair, choose Repair. This will take you to the Recovery console. Choose the XP install to log into, usually there’s only 1, and enter the password when prompted. For Home, the default password is blank. At the C:\Windows prompt type the following commands:

FIXBOOT, answer Yes
CD \ ATTRIB -H NTLDR ATTRIB -S NTLDR ATTRIB -R NTLDR ATTRIB -H NTDETECT.COM ATTRIB -S NTDETEC.COM ATTRIB -R NTDETECT.COM COPY X:\I386\NTLDR C:\ COPY X:\I386\NTDETECT.COM C:\
In steps 9 and 10, “X” is the letter of your CD-ROM drive.

2.2. Changing the name of the Start Menu button

1. Run Resource Hacker, and open \windows\explorer.exe

2. Click String Table > 37 > 1033 (XP-style button)

3. Replace "start" with whatever you want ("ABDHULLAH", in the picture above)

4. Click the Compile Script button.

Repeat steps 3 and 4 for String table > 38 > 1033 (Classic-style button)

5. Save the file (File>Save). Hit Cancel then Yes when Windows File Protection pops up.

Note: If an error message pops up when saving the file, kill explorer.exe (Clt-Alt-Del > Processes > explorer.exe > End Process > File > New Task), repeat step 5 (save the file in Resource Hacker), and restart explorer.exe (Clt-Alt-Del > Processes > explorer.exe > End Process > File > New Task > explorer > OK).

2.3. Changing the icon of the Start Menu button

1. Click Bitmap > 143 > 1033

2. Click Action > Replace bitmap > Open file with new bitmap (the new picture must be 25x20, and have 16 million colors).

3. Select a picture file, click Replace, then save (File>Save) your work. Hit Cancel then Yes when Windows File Protection pops up.

4. Close Resource Hacker

If you do not want to reboot to see your new button, kill then restart explorer.exe (Clt-Alt-Del > Processes > explorer.exe > End Process > File > New Task > explorer > OK)
